Kwabre West NPP shocked by MP’s death

The executives of the Kwabre West Constituency of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have expressed deep shock and consternation over the sudden death of the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Mr. Emmanuel Asamoah Owusu Ansah.

A statement signed by Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, the Constituency Chairman, and made available to the Ghana News Agency, said the entire party had received the news with much pain and disbelief.

It eulogized the deceased MP for his tremendous contribution not only to the development and growth of the party but the whole of the constituency.

The late Mr. Owusu Ansah, the statement said, worked tirelessly over the years to bring progress and better the lives of the people in Kwabre West.

It expressed its condolences to the bereaved family and the larger NPP fraternity “for the loss of such a huge asset.”

The statement asked members and supporters of the party “not to let his passing on demoralize them but rather urge them to work hard to retain the seat.

“That would be the greatest tribute they could pay to his memory.”

The late MP was first elected to parliament in 2004 and was re-elected in 2008.

He died in Accra at the age of 73, on Friday and is survived by a wife and five children.**
