Two Die in Cholera Outbreak

Two persons have died at Akim Nkwantanang near Kade and about 40 others are on admission at the Kade Heath Centre and the St Dominic’s Hospital at Akwatia following a cholera outbreak.

Mr Emmanuel Owusu Tinkorang, Assemblyman, told the GNA that health personnel, members of the Ghana Red Cross Society and staff of the District Assembly had launched a campaign to educate the people on the need to ensure environmental cleanliness to bring the epidemic, which broke-out about five days ago, under control.

He said the only toilet serving the more than 5,000 inhabitants was inadequate and appealed to the Kwaebibirem District Assembly for assistance to construct an additional one.
