NDC donates to Tamale Central Hospital

The Northern Regional Secretariat of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Monday climaxed the 20th Anniversary of the party with a donation of food items to the Children’s Ward of the Tamale Central Hospital.

The items valued at GH ¢3,600, included bags of rice and maize, gallons of cooking oil, cartons of water, assorted drinks, loaves of bread, packets of biscuits, blankets and mosquito coils.

Prior to the donation, the party’s Regional Executives and members led by the Northern Regional Minister, Mr. Moses Bukari Mabengba and his Deputy embarked on a clean-up exercise to sweep the premises of the hospital.

Presenting the items, Mr. Mabengba said the government was committed to empowering and developing the country’s future leaders and hence the decision of the Northern Regional Secretariat of the party to donate towards the upkeep of children.

He said the government would continue to resource the hospital to enable it to deliver efficient services to the people.

Mr. Mabengba called on all to keep the peace of the region, warning that the security agencies would not spare anyone caught fomenting trouble.

He also called on those hiding behind chieftaincy issues to commit crimes to stop.

Receiving the items, Dr. Patrick Bampoh, Medical Superintendent of the Tamale Central Hospital, thanked the party for the donation saying it was the biggest the hospital had received from a group.

Dr. Bampoh congratulated the NDC for attaining 20 years, saying 20 years of existence was no mean an achievement.**
