Trader jailed five years for attempting to steal a phone

The Nkawie Circuit Court has sentenced a 21-year-old trader Mohammed Fuseni to five years imprisonment for attempting to steal a mobile phone.

He pleaded not guilty.

Police Detective Sergeant Jonas Adjei told the court presided over by Justice Frank Owusu Afriyie, that the complainant, Francis Donkor, is an attendant at the Allied Oil Filling Station at Nyinahin.

At dawn on April 28, he was on routine duty when the convict rode to the place on a motorbike.

He attempted to snatch Donkor’s cellular phone from him but he managed to overpower him and handed the convict to the police at Nyinahin.**
