NPP’s Position On These Men

The Herald brings to its readers the hypocrisy and dishonesty of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as revealed in their position on the politics of Mr. Paul Collins Appiah-Ofori, NPP Member of Parliament (MP) of Asikuma Odoben-Brakwa and Mr. Martin Alamis Amidu, the recent past Minister for Justice and Attorney-General.

For his disagreement with his party (NPP) on many issues, Mr. Ofori-Appiah has been branded and declared a mad man by the NPP.

A typical case in view for which Mr. Ofori-Appiah received considerable bashing from his party members is his exposure of the corruption in his the Kufuor administration when $5,00 was given to each Parliamentarian in 2007 to support the sale of Ghana Telecom to Vodafone.

However, the NPP wants Ghanaians to celebrate Mr. Amidu who, during his tenure of office, failed to prosecute them (NPP officials) for their dirty deals when they were in office, but rather obsessed with the alleged Woyome scandal as if it was for that reason that he was appointed as the Attorney-General.

The NPP is obviously relishing the antagonistic posturing that Mr. Amidu has taken in his political relationship with his party, the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

In Mr. Amidu the NPP sees a hero, who is being frustrated in his efforts to ensure probity and accountability is applied in governance.

But in Mr. Ofori-Appiah, the NPP sees a villain and a traitor who must be crushed.
