Vulture meat “chop bars” spring up in Somanya

Residents in Somanya in the Yilo Krobo District are calling for a strict monitoring of activities of chop bar operators.

Their call follows the arrest of a young man who was found with dead vultures. Reports say the suspect had killed over 11 vultures at the Somanya Slaughter house.

He claimed upon interrogation that he was contracted by some chop bar operators.

XYZ Reporter, Bennett Yaovi, who witnessed the incident said residents are scared to purchase any food outside for fear of eating such meat.
