Top Tamale CPP member goes solo in Tamale North Constituency

Dr. Abdel-Nasser Adam, a leading member of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) and lecturer at the University of Ghana, Legon, has declared himself an Independent Candidate of the Tamale North Constituency for the 2012 elections saying that, his decision to contest the seat has been endorsed by the people.

He said he had held several discussions with the people in the constituency and beyond and that the clarion call was on him to contest the seat, stressing “My interaction with all of you gives me hope that if we work together, we can turn things around”.

Dr. Adam expressed his intention to contest the seat in a press statement copied to the Ghana News Agency in Tamale on Thursday.

He said his acceptance was in respect to Allah and the people, and expressed the conviction that positive developments will come to the constituency if he was given the mandate.

He announced that the new moon (crescent) and a shining star would be his symbol.

He called for a peaceful and successful campaign that would crown his efforts with success and subsequently transform the lives of the people for the better.**
