Local Government Ministry provides bikes to Akuapem Municipal Assembly

The Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, have presented 75 motorbikes to members of the Akuapem South Municipal Assembly to facilitate their work.

Mr. Mark Amoako Dompreh, Municipal Chief Executive and Mr. William Neequaye, Presiding Member, presented the bikes at the first ordinary meeting of the assembly at Nsawam in the Eastern Region.

Briefing the Ghana News Agency, Mr. Dompreh said the motorbikes which formed part of the ruling National Democratic Congress “Better Ghana” agenda, would assist the members to reach out to their constituents and educate them on government plans and development.

Mr. Dompreh urged the assembly members to continue to educate the people on peaceful elections in December as they did during the Biometric Voter Registration exercise.

Mr. Neequaye commended the Ministry of Local Government for the provision of the motorbikes, adding that, the gesture would go a long way in helping members to be punctual at assembly sessions.**
