Government donates 24 Laptops to Anomabu Computer Centre

The Government of Ghana has donated 24 Laptops to Anomabu Computer Centre which caters for the Study of Information Communication Technology (ICT) for pupils of all Schools in the town.

The government’s gesture was facilitated by Anomabu Union, a development association of the citizens of the town.

Mr Henry Kweku Hayfrom, Mfantseman Municipal Chief Executive, speaking at the presentation ceremony commended the Ministry of Education on its efforts to promote the teaching and learning of ICT in Schools in Ghana.

He said the ICT subject had become an axis on which education revolved in modern times and pointed out that Ghana could not afford to be left out in the study of the subject.

The MCE advised teachers and students to take teaching and learning of the subject seriously to make Ghanaians move with the times, and urged them to take good care of the computers to make them last long.

Mr Hayfron commended Anomabu Union for its interest in the development of the town and pledged the support of the Municipal Assembly towards the achievement of their goals.

The Chairman of the Anomabu ICT Board, The Very Reverend Samuel Gyimah-Frimpong, who is also the Superintendent Minister of Anomabu Circuit of the Methodist Church, said the Centre needed 80 computers to promote the teaching and learning of ICT in Anomabu and appealed to donor agencies, corporate bodies and individuals to help to acquire them.

The Rev Minister thanked the government for the gesture.
