Delete Agyapong xenophobic statement call tones -NDC Activist

Mr James Gunu, a National Democratic Congress (NDC) Activist in the Volta Region has called on individuals using recordings of Mr Kennedy Agyapong’s recent infamous supposed xenophobic statements as call tones on phones, to delete them.

He said such call signals, especially in public, could brush sensibilities and must stop.

Mr Gunu in an interview with Ghana News Agency (GNA) on Thursday said the Church, opinion and traditional leaders and politicians should prevail on people whose phones emit such “vituperation” to discard them.

Mr Agyapong’s arrest, detention and appearance in court for xenophobic comments, created a furor in the media for a while.

According to Mr Gunu, who is also the Secretary of the Friends of Doe Adjaho (FODA), a support group of Mr Doe Adjaho, First Deputy Speaker of Parliament and MP for Avenor, the “Agyapong Speech Call Tones” should not be dismissed as pranks of the youth.

On the political race in the Ave-Avenor constituency, Mr Gunu said it was a done deal for Mr Adjaho as other contenders, not even the candidate of the biggest opposition party the New Patriotic Party (NPP), will be in the reckoning.

He said the biggest task of the NDC campaign team in the constituency was raising the votes of the Party’s Presidential Candidate, President Evans Atta Mills.**
