Bompieso enstools new chief

Mr Kobina Wiredu Essuman, a 60-year-old businessman, has been enstooled as the chief of Bompieso in the Huni/Valley traditional area, under the stool name Nana Atta Brempong II.

He swore the oath of allegiance to the Bompieso community, Nana Kofi Ngoroh II, chief of Amoanda and his elders.

Introducing the new chief to the Bompieso community at a durbar on Thursday, Nana Ngoroh II congratulated Nana Atta Brempong II for succeeding the late chief Nana Kofi Yamoah II who died in June 2004.

He reminded the citizens of Bompieso to support their chief to initiate more developmental projects.

Delivering a brief address at the ceremony, Nana Brempong II thanked the elders for honoring him with such a position.

He re-emphasized the need for every child to go to school saying he would pursue the goal vigorously with his elders.

He said girls in the area would be assisted to discover their talents and capabilities in various vocations.

Nana Brempong II appealed to parents and guardians to take keen interest in the education of the girl child to enable them occupy higher positions in the society.

He also promised to work closely with his elders to improve the standard of living in the Bompieso community.**
