Court sentences visa fraudster to 10 years imprisonment.

A Kumasi Circuit Court has sentenced a driver to 10 years imprisonment for swindling a cashier of her GH¢8,760.00, under the pretext of facilitating her travel to the United States.

Kwabena Nsiah was charged with defrauding by false pretence and pleaded guilty.

Chief Inspector Comfort Baffour Kyei told the court presided over by Justice Emmanuel Boampong, that the complainant, Ms Monica Aba Clement, is the cashier of Infinity Tyre Company and resides at North Patasi in Kumasi.

She said in year 2010, Nsiah convinced her that he could secure her visa to the US and they agreed on a fee of GH¢8,760.00 which was paid.

Kyei after collecting the money went into hiding and was later traced to his hideout.**
