Reverend Theresa Sintim-Aboagye, Ashanti Regional Superintendent Minister of the Apostles Revelation Society, has reminded Ghanaians never to take the peace and stability of the nation for granted.
She said it behooved: “All of us to be on our knees and to pray fervently to God to continue to grant us the gift of peace and security.”
This has become necessary, especially as the country goes to the polls in December to elect a president and members of parliament.
Delivering an Easter message in Kumasi, she asked the people to repudiate acts of violence, provocation, insults and other unhealthy conduct likely to fuel tension and trigger clashes.
Rev Sintim-Aboagye said, Christ’s resurrection should provide inspiration for Christians to make the needed sacrifices for the good of the society.
She said, Christians should not allow themselves to be swayed by materialism, but remain steadfast in the faith and should be modest, humble and lead pious lives to become good examples to the rest of the people.
She urged the congregation to work hard to spread the gospel and win more souls for Christ.
Preaching at the Bishop Small Cathedral of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, Fante New Town, Kumasi, the Resident Pastor, Rev. Seth Frimpong Coleman, advised Christians to serve God in truth and honesty.
They should remain hopeful and confident of His enormous blessings and mercies in the midst of hardships and suffering.
“Goodness from the graveyard” was the theme of his sermon.
Rev. Coleman said, Jesus Christ’s victory over death should embolden Christians to go out and bear witness to the Word of God, the message of redemption and salvation.
He advised the youth not to allow themselves to be manipulated by self-seeking politicians, bent on creating trouble and should be mindful of their pronouncements.
Rev Coleman said, they should be tolerant of contrary views and sustain the relative peace the nation is enjoying.**
