Ghanaians advised to pray for peace

Reverend Augustine Obeng, Mamponteng Area Minister of the Assemblies of God Church, has invited Ghanaians to pray unceasingly for the peaceful conduct of the 2012 elections.

He said the December poll would provide a real test for the nation, saying, it is important for the church to use its enormous influence to protect the peace.

Rev Obeng was delivering the sermon at a three-day Easter Convention organised by the church at Asenua in the Kwabre East District in the Ashanti Region, on the theme: “Walking in the Spirit of God.”

The event brought together about 1,000 delegates of the church.

He said the death and resurrection of Christ should remind Christians about the need to show commitment and dedication in the worship of God.

Rev Obeng said, “Christians should let their light shine as society looks up to them for leadership and direction.”

He advised the people to contribute their quota towards the socio-economic development of the nation.**
