Election not rat race- Bishop Lodonu

The Most Reverend Francis Anani Lodonu, Bishop of the Ho Diocese of the Catholic Church, has observed that elections are not a rat-race that should push politicians to malign their opponents to gain power.

Bishop Lodonu, was delivering the Easter Sunday homily at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Bankoe in Ho.

He said politicians should not be desperate for power and should stop the insults currently associated with politicking in Ghana.

Bishop Lodonu said, politicians should take a cue from the example of Jesus who sacrificed his life for the sake of mankind, and not live for themselves when in power.

He observed that the peace prevailing in Ghana must be regarded as golden, given the political turmoil in Syria, Libya and currently Mali, in the West African sub-region.**
