Opinion leader appeals to government to support the youth

Mr Emmanuel Agyei, an opinion leader at Amasaman, has appealed to the government to give more logistics to the National Youth Authority.

Briefing the GNA after a one week tour of the Eastern and Greater Accra regions, Mr Agyei said young people are always deceived by some politicians with money to cause trouble.

He said before peace could be achieved the youth should be engaged by the National Youth Association and be given salaries and equipment to work with.

He said the youth were causing violence because they (NYA) did not have logistics in their offices to sensitize, create awareness and educate the people in the rural areas.

In an interview with one of the youth co-ordinators, Mr Nash Abbey of Amasaman, he said the National Youth Association has equipped many youth to become useful citizens. **
