Carcass of toddler dumped on refuse site

The Bomaakrom-Ayimana community in Techiman Municipality was thrown into a state of shock and fear following the discovery of a dead female toddler concealed in a cloth and dumped at a refuse dump.

The attention of the public was drawn to the carcass by dogs feeding on it.

Mr Kofi Oppong Ababio, Assembly Member for the area, made this known to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) when he led Police Chief Inspector Tommy Thompson, Municipal Station Officer and Mr Andrew Akakpo, Municipal Environmental Protection and Standard Enforcement Unit Officer, to the scene.

Mr Ababio asked the people to report any suspect to the law enforcement agencies.

He said the municipality had within the past two years experienced the dumping of toddlers in public toilets and refuse sites.

Chief Inspector Thompson told the GNA that the police would not spare any culprit found in the act.

Meanwhile the toddler who had part of the skull eaten by the dogs has been buried.**
