Dr Kwaku Agyemang-Mensah, Ashanti Regional Minster, has appealed to Muslim chiefs and opinion leaders to prevent the youth from being part of any agenda at causing confusion during the coming elections.
He said the youth, who represent the hope of the nation should rather help to sustain the peace and channel their energies into productive ventures.
Dr Agyemang-Mensah said this when he joined Muslims in Kumasi at a national prayer and thanksgiving service on the theme “Peace, security and stability” which climaxed activities marking 55 years of nation.
The Regional Minister drew attention on the need to concentrate more on issues that would strengthen national unity and cohesion.
He said the upcoming biometric voters’ registration exercise was vital and asked all qualified voters to patronize the exercise because that was the only way they could vote in the December polls.
Sheikh Abdul Mumin Harun, Ashanti Regional Chief Imam, led the gathering to recite the Quran and pray for peace to prevail in the country.
Alhaji Omar Farouk Saeed, the Sarikin Zongo, appealed to the political parties to be tolerant and ensure civility in the conduct of their electioneering campaigns.**
