Tarkwa Nsueam MP donates jerseys to 26 schools

The Member of Parliament for Tarkwa Nsueam Constituency, Mrs. Gifty Eugenie Kusi, has presented 26 sets of jerseys with footballs valued at GHC20,000 to 26 schools in his Constituency.

The beneficiaries include 21 primary and junior high schools and five second cycle institutions.

Making the presentation at the premises of the various schools, the MP said the donation would go a long way to enhance the efficiency of the students in their sporting activities.

The MP used the opportunity to advise the people of Tarkwa and its neighboring communities to keep their surroundings clean and maintain a hygienic environment to support the efforts by the Municipal authorities to address sanitation problems.

She said good sanitation would help prevent the spread of diseases such as malaria and cholera.

Mrs. Kusi advised parents to show extra interest in the education of their wards.

The MP called on the students to study hard and be disciplined in school, adding that, education is important to improve their lives.

Receiving the items on behalf of the schools, the head teachers expressed gratitude to the MP for the kind gesture.

They promised to use the items for the intended purpose so as to build the talents of the school children in sporting activities.
