Asanteman gets new Nsumankwaahene (Chief Priest)

The newly installed Nsumankwaahene (Chief Priest) of Asanteman on Monday swore the oath of allegiance to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at the Manhyia Palace.

Baffour Asabre Kogyawoasu III, 57, a businessman, succeeds the late Baffour Domfe Gyeabour, who died in November, last year.

Until his installation, he served in the Asantehene’s court and this he did for 24 years running.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu advised him to remain sincere and loyal to the Golden Stool.

He should carry himself with dignity to enjoy the confidence and support of the people.

Baffour Kogyawoasu, known in private life as Mr Kofi Asare Ababio, pledged to follow the footsteps of his predecessors.

He said he would work assiduously towards helping to bring progress to Asanteman. **
