Driver jailed 30 years for robbing two cellular phones

A Kumasi Circuit Court has sentenced a driver to 30 years imprisonment for robbery.

Simon Attah denied charges of conspiracy to commit robbery and robbery.

Mr Dennis Kumah-Kwarkye, an Assistant State Attorney, told the court presided over by Justice Emmanuel Amo-Yartey that the complainant, Ebenezer Arthur is a trader and lives at Old Tafo in Kumasi.

He said in the evening of September 19, he was returning home after church service when he met the convict and two other accomplices who attacked and robbed him of his bag containing two cellular phones, snap cards and cash of GH¢ 7.00.

Mr Kumah-Kwarkye said the complainant later made a formal report to the police and investigations led to the arrest of Attah who confessed to the crime in his caution statement. **
