There is improvement in women participation in governance – Parliamentary Candidate

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Ada Constituency, Madam Comfort Doeyo Cudjoe Ghansah has observed that women’s participation in governance has improved in the country.

She therefore urged women to take advantage of the platform provided by government and the institution of the International Women’s Day by the United Nations to advance their course in contributing towards national and global development.

Madam Ghansah gave the advice when she spoke to the Ghana News Agency Ada about the importance of the International Women’s Day being observed worldwide.

“As you can see, the President and the Vice are males whiles Parliament and the Judiciary are being headed by females and this depicts equity in democratic governance”.

She said the NDC could not appoint more women as ministers because there were few women parliamentarians and appealed to the people to vote for her in the forthcoming general elections to increase the number of women in parliament.
