Minors have been cautioned to stay away from the upcoming biometric voters’ registration exercise to avoid trouble.
Mr Kwaku Afrifa Yamoah Ponko, Municipal Chief Executive for Ejisu-Juaben, said it was criminal for any unqualified person to attempt to get his or her name into the new voters’ roll.
Offenders, he said, should get ready to face appropriate punishment.
He was addressing a parade of school children to commemorate 55 years of nationhood at Ejisu.
More than 600 pupils and students from basic and Senior High Schools (SHS) participated.
Mr Yamoah Ponko appealed to the people to help protect the peace, unity and cohesion of the country, adding that this called for tolerance and responsible conduct, particularly by the political parties and their supporters.
Students who excelled in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and the West African Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) were presented with prize awards by the municipal assembly.
