Pilot biometric registration ends in Brong-Ahafo

The four-day pilot exercise on the biometric voters’ registration in the Brong-Ahafo Region ended on Tuesday, registering a total of 1,121 eligible voters.

The Electoral Commission organised the exercise in the Sunyani Municipality and Seikwa in Tain District.

Briefing the Ghana News Agency after the exercise on Thursday, Mr. George Gyabaah, the Regional Director of the Commission, said the exercise went on smoothly in the two areas.

He said turnout was very impressive as the Commission exceeded its target.

Mr. Gyabaah explained that because of the high turnout there was a shortage of registration kits in the two areas on the last day of the exercise and expressed the hope that eligible voters in the region would register in their numbers during the main exercise.
