Deng to offer 80 students of Wa Polytechnic training in sola

More than 80 students of Wa Polytechnic are to benefit from a solar training programme being offered by Deng Solar Training Centre to enable them provide support for standalone solar systems in the Upper West Region.

The training project, sponsored by the Australian High Commission, is estimated at about GHC22,000.

A statement from DSTC Solar Training Centre said the students would be taken through solar training courses on design, installation and maintenance of stand alone solar systems at the polytechnic.

It is expected that the skills acquired by the students would enable the polytechnic to support and train users of stand alone solar systems in the Upper West Region.

As part of the training programme Wa Polytechnic has been supplied with tools, equipment and manuals.

The statement said DSTC would train the students in four programmes to be organised in February, March, April and May.
