US pastor donates heart equipment to hospital

Nkoranza (B/A), Feb. 10, GNA – The Reverend Elgin Taylor, a philanthropist from Texas in the United States, has donated “heart start” health equipment known as Defibrillator to the Nkoranza Health Centre.

Rev. Taylor, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the United States based Tel International, a non-governmental organization, was in 2002 enstooled as Apagyahene (development-oriented chief) by Omanhene of Nkoranza Okatakyie Agyemang Kodom IV during a visit to Nkoranza.

Okatakyie Agyemang Kodom said the enstoolment was to commend him for his tremendous contributions to the development of the area.

Presenting the equipment to Madam Salamatu Ibrahim, the District Director of Health services, Rev. Taylor said the facility valued at about $3,200 could function for about five years before the cells in the battery could be re-charged.

Mr. Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum commended Rev. Taylor for his support towards the development of Nkoranza and called on other religious bodies or organisations both home and abroad to assist in meeting the welfare and spiritual needs of the people.

In another development Madam Comfort Korkor Kwame, Nkoranza South District Public Health Nurse has cautioned the youth against pre-marital sex to avoid contracting HIV/AIDS.
