Citi FM and Oman FM to Air Akufo-Addo’s US Speech Live

The 2012 Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo, has been invited to articulate his economic vision for Ghana at a Luncheon to be held in Houston, Texas in the United States. It follows an invitation extended to him by the United States Congress to join President Obama and other world leaders at the Annual Congressional Prayer Breakfast held at the Washington Hilton on Thursday February 2, 2012. The speech, which will highlight many aspects of his economic policy, will be aired live on Accra based radio stations, Oman FM and Citi FM at 8pm on Friday.

Houston has been recognised as the energy capital of the world, given the high concentration of the world’s largest energy companies there. But that is just half of Houston’s story. The Space City is second only to New York City as having the largest concentration of corporate headquarters’. Thus, Nana Akufo-Addo’s invitation to address both events, the luncheon and an Executive Dinner scheduled for later that evening, is seen as an endorsement of the business community.

While in Houston, Nana Akufo-Addo will hold a town hall meeting with the Ghanaian Community, where he is expected to call on Ghanaians in the diaspora to do more beyond remittances. According to his campaign team, Nana Akufo-Addo, a firm believer in the skills, talents and can-do spirit of the Ghanaian Diaspora, has pledged to make sure that his administration would do more to facilitate the return of the Ghanaian Diaspora to help build mother Ghana.

Nana Akufo-Addo returns home on Monday February 6, 2012.
