Teacher arrested for defiling girl 8

Agona Swedru, Feb 1, GNA – The Swedru Divisional Command of the Domestic Violence and Support Unit (DOVSU) of the Ghana Police Service has arrested Samuel Gurah, a teacher at Gomoa Bewadze for allegedly defiling an eight year old school girl.

According to the Police Command, the suspect was said to have been arrested on Monday, 30 January, 2012 at Gomoa Ekwamkrom, where the incident occurred.

The source told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the teacher, who stayed with the girl in the same community, lured the victim into his uncompleted building at Ekwamkrom, sexually assaulted her, and warned her not to tell anybody else she would die.

According to the Police source, the girl narrated the pains and ordeal she was going through to her parents and the matter was reported to the Agona Swedru Divisional Command of DOSU.

The suspect is currently on provisional charge of defilement and would soon be arraigned before the Agona Swedru Circuit Court.
