Cadbury presents bicycles to school children

Jumapo (ER), Jan. 19, GNA – Cadbury Cocoa Partnership, a project of Cadbury to improve the wellbeing of cocoa growing communities in Ghana has presented 1,608 bicycles to school children who walk more than a distance of three kilometres to school each day, in four cocoa growing districts in the Eastern Region.

The gesture meant that 1,608 school children from the four operating districts of the project including New Juaben, West Akyem, Suhum Kraboa Coaltar and the Fanteakwa districts involving over 50 communities, would no longer walk to school.

The Cadbury Cocoa partnership in collaboration with the Volunteer Services Overseas (VSO), Care International and World Vision would be donating a total of 3,651 bicycles to children in 209 cocoa growing communities across the country this year alone.
