Youth wants Wa East Assembly to do business in Funsi

Funsi (UWR), Jan.11, GNA – Some youths in Funsi, the capital of the Wa East District, on Monday demonstrated against officials of the District Assembly and heads of government departments for their refusal to stay at Funsi to transact government business.

The Old Students Association of the Funsi Junior High (OSAF) said monitoring the offices of the District Assembly, it is almost impossible to find all staff present throughout the week.

The offices are almost always empty as many departments are being manned from their “own offices” in Wa and with no regards to lay down regulations pertaining to the creation of the district and their functions.

These concerns were raised in a communiqu=E9 issued and signed by Oswald Bayong, President of OSAF, at Funsi accusing the District Chief
