MTTU mounts search for mentally challenged driver

Koforidua, Jan. 06, GNA-The Eastern Regional Command of the Motor Traffic and Transport Unit (MTTU), has mounted an intensive search for a mentally challenged person who was driving a commercial vehicle in Koforidua.

Briefing the GNA, the Regional MTTU Commander, Superintendent James Sarfo Peprah, said the Police had information that the man in question appeared before a court for threatening to kill someone.

The Court ordered that he was mentally challenged and that he should be sent to the psychiatric hospital for attention but information had reached the Police that he was seen driving a commercial vehicle.

As to how he managed to get a driving a license, the MTTU boss said investigations after his arrest would prove it but strongly suspected that he might be using a fake drivers licence
