Tuesday December 27 declared statutory public holiday

Accra, Dec. 20, GNA – The Government has by Executive Instrument declared Tuesday, December 27, 2011 and Monday, January 2, 2012 public holidays and should be observes as such throughout the country.

A statement signed on Tuesday in Accra by Minister of the Interior, Dr Benjamin Kunbour, reminded the general public that December 25 and 26 as well as January 1 were Statutory Public Holidays and should be observed.

It said in view of the fact that December 25, 2011 and January 1, 2012 fell on two Sundays, the Government had to declare the public holidays.

The statement therefore directs all to observe the two public holidays throughout the country.
