A 27-YEAR-OLD Ghanaian, Sam Yaw Manford, was arrested by the Swiss authorities at the Geneva Airport on October 12, 2011, for possession of one hundred and eighty (180) grammes of cocaine.

He arrived in Geneva aboard an Iberian Airlines scheduled flight from Madrid, Spain.

According to sources, Sam Manford is a close associate of Raymond Amankwa who is a brother-in-law of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, flagbearer of the New Patroitic Party (NPP) for next year’s Presidential and parliamentary elections.

Raymond Amankwa is a drug baron who is currently serving a jail term in Brazil for dealing in narcotic drugs.

Information available to _The True Statesman_ indicate that, Sam Manford is only a courier and the Swiss authorities are working to track down the NPP politicians involved in the drug smuggling operation.

Sam Manford’s Ghanaian passport number is H2472190. He also is a holder of Spanish residence permit number E13163796, which is valid until August 30, 2015.

He is currently in detention at the “Camp De Long” facility in Geneva.
