Ghana To Open Embassy In Spain

Ghana is to open an embassy in Spain early next year to facilitate and deepen healthy relations established between the two countries. The decision follows keen interest shown by Spanish businessmen in dealing with Ghana in various sectors of the economy.

The areas of interest include aluminum, natural rubber, granite, electrical and chemical engineering, tuna fisheries, road construction, tourism, civil engineering and tuna canning.

Spanish investors have also suggested that in view of the growing relations between the two countries, a special desk which will promote Ghana-Spanish economic relations should be set up at the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre.

Foreign Minister Hackman Owusu Agyeman noted that during the President Kufuor’s recent trip to Spain, he held a series of meetings with a cross section of Spanish investors who were so impressed with the presentations and were anxious to do business in Ghana.
