Heavy rains due to weather systems

‘ Accra, Oct 26, GNA – Torgbui Gbegbie Fiamekor I, Senior Forecaster at the Meteorological Department, Kotoka International Airport, on Tuesday said rainfall experienced in Accra last night, was due to changes in the weather systems or determinants of weather conditions.

He said basically, however, Ghana was experiencing the minor rainy season, which meant there could be more rains in the days ahead. Torgbui Fiamekor in an interview with Ghana News Agency in Accra, said the intensity of rainfall was expected to decrease within the next few weeks and give way to the dry winds that typically herald the harmatan season, according to indications by the weather systems.
