President to honour state individuals

Accra, Oct. 14, GNA – President John Evans Atta Mills will host an Investiture Ceremony to confer national honours on some distinguished personalities of the state on Friday, October 14.

This was contained in statement signed by Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Deputy Minister of Information and copied to the Ghana News Agency.

The statement said the national honours would be given to about 46 distinguished persons including Mr Harry Sawyerr, a statesman, Mrs Joyce Bamford Addo, Speaker of Parliament, Professor Nana Agyewodin Adu Gyamfi Ampem and Sergeant Baiden Ebenezer Morgan.

In addition, the Black Stars team that qualified to the quarter final of the World Cup and the Black Satellites team that won the World Under-20 Tournament would also be decorated.

It said Investiture Ceremony would be live on Ghana Television and Ghana Broadcast Cooperation Radio network across the country.
