Authorities at Sunyani Polytechnic intervene in GNUPS election stand off

Authorities at the Sunyani Polytechnic have intervened in a standoff between some members of the Ghana National Association of Polytechnic Students.

The incident prevented the association from conducting an election for new national executives.

GNUPS executives from the Wa, Bolga and Tamale stormed out of a meeting yesterday after claiming there were attempts to manipulate the polls.

But as latest reports suggest calm has returned and the election is scheduled to take place anytime soon.

Kuuku Abban of Skyy FM in Sunyani said another issue raised warranted another closed-door meeting.
