MP supports community development projects

Adwumakase (Ash) Oct. 5, GNA – The Member of Parliament (MP) for Kwa= bre West; Mr Emmanuel Asamoah Owusu-Ansah, has made available large quantity of building materials in support of the implementation of health, school and street lighting projects in his constituency. These included 460 bags of cement, bundles of roofing sheets, boxes of nails and electrical cables and bulbs. The beneficiary communities are Adwumakase-kese, Ankaase, Bomso, Ebom-Bomfa and Nantan. The items were bought with money from the MP’s share of the District Assemblies’ Common Fund. Mr Owusu-Ansah who presented the materials at separate ceremonies said he is determined to assist to bring progress to the people. He said to help improve education in the area, he has provided GH¢23,690.00 in the form of scholarship for 195 students. Thirty-three (33) of the beneficiaries are in tertiary institutions an= d the remaining 126, in Senior High School.

The MP encouraged the students to work hard to achieve academic excellence. Mr Owusu-Ansah urged qualified voters in the area to make sure that they get their names on the voters roll when the registration exercise commences, saying it is their civic responsibility towards nation building. At Adwumakase-Kese, the Krontihene Nana Yeboah Mensah, complained abou= t the undue delay in the construction of the road from Fawoade through the town to Aboabogya as well as a six-unit block for the local basic school. Both projects were awarded about four years ago and there is no sign they would be completed any time soon as the contractors had left the project site. Nana Mensah said the people are grateful to Mr Owusu-Ansah, for supporting the community centre project with 150 bags of cement. At Bomso, the Chief, Nana Osei Akoto, used the occasion to also presen= t 20 dual desks to the local school.

The MP had given 100 bags of cement to support the construction of a single-storey block of classrooms for the Junior High School in the community.
