Rotary club raises funds for children

Accra, Oct. 1, GNA – The Ring Road Central branch of the Rotary Club= of Ghana, on Saturday organized a walk through some streets in Accra to raise funds for the health needs of children at Mamobi and its community school project. The walk which was dubbed 93Walk for a Child” was sponsored by comp= anies such as Collina Insurance Company, Azar Paints and Phoenix Insurance. Briefing the press after the exercise, Mr Victor Yaw Asante, President of the Rotary Club of Accra Ring Road Central, said the GH¢ 50, 000 rais= ed from the walk would also be used to complete the club’s school project at Asempaneye, a village in the Eastern Region and also rehabilitate some facilities at the Mamobi Hospital He said Rotarians were committed to serve their communities in order t= o help make a difference in the lives of community members. Mr Asante who is also the West Africa Regional Head of Transaction Banking at Standard Charted Bank, appealed to corporate bodies to come to the assistance of their communities. He said Rotary International was made of about 1.2 million people worldwide with 21 clubs in Ghana.
