Half Assini Methodist JHS appeals for new school building

Half Assini (C/R), Sept. 30, GNA – The Half Assini Methodist Junior High and Primary School has appealed to the Jomoro District Assembly and the Education Directorate to build a new school block to replace the existing one that has become a death trap. The outgoing head teacher of the school, Mr Francis Lokpor, made the appeal in statement.

He said the school, constructed in 1954, has never seen any renovation and is on the verge of collapse. Mr Lokpor said on September 26 a pillar fell on a pupil, Miss Sarah Ashadi, 17, was taken to the Half Assini Government Hospital and was treated and discharged. The District Chief Executive for Jomoro, Mr Sylvester Nuamah Dadieh, visited the school and directed the Assembly’s Engineer to inspect the school and report to the Assembly immediately.
