NYEP to give meaningful lives to the youth

Kumasi, Sept. 24, GNA – Mr Evans Ablordeppey, Oforikrom Co-ordinator of the National Youth Employment Programme (NYEP), has cautioned beneficiaries of the Programme against lukewarm attitude to work.

He said they are required to remain disciplined, patriotic and also work hard to achieve progress.

The Programme, he said, has good objectives of giving meaningful livelihood to the youth by reducing poverty and creating wealth hence the need for the beneficiaries to attach importance to it.

Mr Ablordeppey was presenting sewing machines to some 20 youth at Oforikrom in Kumasi, following their completion of a six- month training programme in dressmaking.

The training was organised under the Trades and Vocation Module of the NYEP.

He challenged the trainees to make use of the knowledge they had acquired to better their standards of living.

Mr Ablordeppey stated that the Programme would continue to introduce vibrant modules to give access to a number of people to benefit from it.
