Jamra Community Health Planning and Services given accreditation

Breman Asikuma (C/R) Sept. 19, GNA – The Jamra Community Health Planning and Services (CHPS) Compound in the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District has been given accreditation by the National Health Insurance Authority to provide healthcare service to its insured clients.

The District Chief Executive for the area, Madam Georgina Nkrumah Aboah, made this known at the Assembly Meeting at Breman Asikuma.

This brings to 11 the number of accredited facilities in the District.

The others are Our Lady of Grace Hospital, Odoben Health Centre, Brakwa Health Centre, Anhwiam CHPS Compound and Amanfopong CHPS.

The rest are Bedum Community Clinic, Joepat Medlab, Theresa Etsiako Chemical Shop, Anna Ocran Maternity Home and Sowutuom CHPS Compound.

She said Nanakese and Ayipey CHPS Compounds are yet to be accredited although applications to that effect had been duly sent to the NHIA for consideration.

The DCE said the National Health Insurance Authority had in collaboration with key stakeholders updated the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) Medicines list.

“This is with the aim of improving the quality of health care in the country,” she said.

The revised medicines list, which took effect from March One, covers 552, adding that significant additions to the list includes Arthemeter injection for the treatment of complicated and severe malaria.

Madam Aboah appealed to assembly members to continue to educate their electorates to register with the National Health Insurance Scheme, most especially women and children.
