Tarkwa, Sept. 17, GNA – Allan Wireko, a 31 year-old labourer, has been

granted a bail of GH¢10,000 by a Tarkwa circuit court for threatening to kill a local radio announcer at Wassa Afransie in the Western Region.

His pleaded was not taken and would re-appear on October 7.

Prosecuting Police Detective Chief Inspector Oscar Amponsah told the court presided over by Mr Samuel Obeng Diawuo that the complainant, Kwame Badu and the accused person reside at Wassa Afransie.

He said barely a month ago, the chief of the town, Nana Kwasi Oppong engaged the complainant to make an announcement about the installation of a new queen mother of Wassa Afransie.

According to the Prosecutor, the accused person who was against the installation on August 17 at about 1000 hours took his double barrel gun with five life cartridges and headed to the complainants house to threaten to kill him if he continue making the announcement in favour of the installation.

He said on August 18, a report was made to the police compelling the accused person to go into hiding. However at about 2230 hours on September 20, he emerged from his hideout looking for the complainant to kill.

Detective Amponsah said the chief of the town organised some boys to arrest the accused person who was found with the exhibits and was handed over to the police.
