Police enlisted forms run short in Koforidua

Koforidua, Sept. 08, GNA-Young men and women who thronged the Eastern Regional Police Command in Koforidua to purchase police enlistment forms were disappointed because there were no forms to be bought.

The young men who looked disturbed wondered if they could really get the opportunity this year to be enlisted into the police service. According to the Eastern Regional Police Public Affairs Director, Chief Inspector Nketia Yeboah, the region had 500 forms to be sold out to interested persons but all were exhausted on the same day.

He said the forms were being sold to professional careers such as technicians, Communicators, Nurses, Doctors, lawyers, Marine engineers and other professionals to fill vacancies in the police service.

Chief Inspector Yeboah however said it appeared that people without the required qualifications had purchased the forms and appealed to the public that the enlistment was not a general recruitment but for professionals only.

He indicated that after submitting the forms, there would be thorough screening and interviews for the best to be selected and urged those who had the qualification to wait patiently whiles the command made arrangements for more forms to be sent to the region.
