Don’t get involved in conflicts – Minister cautions

Bolgatanga, Sept. 7 GNA – Mrs Lucy Awuni, Upper East Deputy Regional Minister, has cautioned the youth in the Region not to allow themselves to be used by selfish individuals to foment conflicts in the area.

She gave the caution during the 91Better Ghana Youth Caravan Project’, organized by the National Youth Authority (NYA) and held in Bolgatanga.

She said it was regrettable that some young people allowed themselves to be used by selfish people to create conflicts which hinder the development of the area.

Mrs Awuni appealed to the youth to desist from engaging in bad social behaviors such as drug abuse and sexual immorality and called on them to continue schooling or join vocational institutes to acquire some skills.

The Youth who were drawn from youth groups from all the nine Districts in the Region were taken through a forum on sexuality and public health education on HIV/AIDS, drug abuse, conflict management, law enforcement and an entrepreneurial session on alternative livelihoods for conflict prevention.
