Dan Botwe supports school

Awukugua Akuapem (E/R), Aug. 23, GNA – Mr Dan Botwe, Member of Parliament for Okere, has presented a cheque for GH¢5,000 and 100 bags of cement to the Awukugua Adventist Junior High School (JHS) towards the construction of a three unit classroom block.

The presentation was in response to a request made by the school to the MP when he paid a working visit to the area recently.

Mr Botwe said his major concern was the falling standards of education in the area which reflects in the results of the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

He said he had noted with concern the lack of support some parents and guardians give towards their wards education and appealed to them to change their attitude and consider education as the best investment one could make for his wards.

He said he had allocated a chunk of resources into educational development in the constituency and urged teachers to work harder to help make his dream of lifting the educational standard in the area a reality.

Receiving the cheque on behalf of the school the Headmistress, Ms Hannah Dapaah, thanked the MP and said the money would be used for the intended purpose.
