Kwahu East District Assembly builds new market

Miaso (E/R), Aug 19, GNA – The Kwahu East District Assembly has built a GHc 99,000 market comprising 80 stalls and a warehouse at Miaso near Begoro to replace a dilapidated one.

The market was financed from the Assembly share of the Common Fund and was completed within six months.

Inaugurating the market on Thursday the District Chief Executive, Mr Samuel Asamoah, said besides the market the community would benefit from a three-unit classroom block which would soon be awarded on contract.

He appealed to the chief and unit committee members to collaborate with the assembly member to select a suitable site for the project.

Mr Asamoah said 91 development projects had been implemented in the district within the past two and half years and appealed to the people to bury their political differences and contribute to the development of the district.

The chief of Miaso, Nana Akomeah Sampong II, appealed to the assembly to dig more boreholes, extend electricity to the town and assist the community to build a chief’s palace and a police station to control the crime rate in the area.

He urged the assembly to implement its by-laws on stray animals for the people to confine their pigs because the animals had been polluting the town’s only source of water.
