Grand Rock Foundation donates to citizens of Kenyasi

Kenyasi (Ash), Aug 11, GNA – Grand Rock Foundation, a Kumasi-based non-governmental organization (NGO), on Wednesday presented assorted gifts valued at about GH¢9,000.00 to the chiefs and people of Kenyasi in the Kwabre East District. These included secondhand clothing, footwear, bed sheets, wheel chairs= , crutches and other medical supplies.

Mr Ebenezer Asante, the Executive Director of the NGO, said the donatio= n was received from their United States counterparts, the Orphan Grain Train. He appealed to the chiefs to release land to the NGO to establish a vocational centre to train the youth in employable skills. Miss Lisa Salma Abubakar, Social Development Assistant of the Departmen= t of Social Welfare, appealed to the disabled to register with the Department to help them access financial assistance and other support programmes. Barima Owusu Agyeamang, the chief of the town, thanked the NGO for the donation and promised that it would be fairly distributed to the beneficiaries.
