New York is ready for the Mother of All Picnics; NCOGA 2011 Picnic/Durbar and Concert which happens on Saturday, August 6, 2011. Its summertime again and the National Council of Ghanaian Associations (NCOGA) will be hosting a one-of-a kind picnic/durbar and concert at the beautiful Roy Wilkins Park in Jamaica, Queens.****

This year’s event is a two for one picnic/durbar: with a procession of Chiefs, cultural displays from all the regions in Ghana and a mega concert featuring Nana Boro – Hip-life artiste and a surprise appearance by a top superstar from Ghana. There will be a live broadcast on Bronxnet TV and attendees will be given the opportunity to send greetings or messages to loved ones live from the park.****

Also present will be a musical display by the brass bands from the various churches. His Excellency; Ambassador Ken Kanda, Ghana’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations and his staff will be in attendance, as well as a host of politicians from the Tri-state area. ****

It will be an epic cultural display and great music to satisfy everyone’s appetite. Please come and witness the Ghanaian culture at its best; to mingle and meet new friends. This is also an opportunity to meet old school mates and friends never seen for a very, very long time!****
