Muslims starts Ramadan fasting

Accra, Aug. 1, GNA – The National Chief Imam of Ghana, the National Hilal Committee and the Muslim fraternity, on Saturday announced that Muslims throughout the country are to start Ramadan fasting at dawn of Monday August 1 2011. A press release signed by Sheik M.M Gedel, Chairman of the National Hilal Committee, and copied to the Ghana News Agency in Accra, said the new moon of Ramadan was sighted at Kumasi on the evening of July 31, 2011. It said: 93the Committee wishes all Muslims in the world a successful Ramadan fasting.”
